Thanksgiving Recap

This Thanksgiving was very busy.  Kallie caught a stomach bug on Tuesday and was sick through Wednesday so we stayed close to home.  However Tuesday before she got sick we did get out and attend Gunner's school party.  The kids had a great time eating, making paper sack turkey puppets, and playing pin the tail feathers on the turkey.  I love being able to attend and organize these parties.  We came home and I had lots of work to get done while the kids played.  Wednesday we put up Christmas decor but I will post about that later.  Thursday was a upon us and this momma got up early to cook, clean, and prepare.  We had Chris's family and my brother here this year.  I wish I had got some pictures because we had a great year and a lot to be Thankful for.  We ate around 12 and then we rested and looked at the sale ads then it was time to go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.  The boys played football and Gunner was in heaven while us ladies watched.  Everyone left except for my brother who stayed to help Chris put Christmas lights on the house since he was sick with Staph (third time) again.  We then just rested and got ready for our busy weekend.  Friday morning we left around 6:30 to head to my grandmas for Thanksgiving with my family and we had a great weekend!  We got there around 11 and had our big dinner and then watched the Arkansas vs LSU game.  I have to say I am still proud of my HOGS and I love em dearly...just wish they would have played a little better the second half of the game.  After the game all the guys were UPSET to say the least so my grandma wanted us all to play Bingo and she had prizes for the winners.  We played several game and had a great time.  Saturday was fun with papa day and  shopping day and I was thrilled to get to go out with my mom, grandma, sister, and Kallie to the mall.  We got some great goodies at JC Penny's and here is my little DIVA sporting her new outfit.

When us kids were younger we used to love to ride Papa's tractor ...well its not different for my kids either they love it.  Early Saturday before the rain started he fired ole girl up and took the kids for many rides around the yard.  Gunner even found a scooter in the shop and was thrilled to ride it around the driveway.  Notice the silly hat my Papa gave Gunner.  Gotta love him.

Saturday after shopping we came home to eat lunch and then my dad, me, my sister, and my Papa went to see Mr. Glen at the hospital. Mr G is like my second grandpa he has lived next door to my grandparent for over 40 years and they have been friends for 49 years.  He is not doing well at all and they are putting him in a nursing home today.  This was really tough because four months ago when I was down there he was walking, talking, and just his bright vibrant self and now he cannot walk, barely talk and when he does its slurred, and has 7 MAJOR things wrong with him.  Please pray for this amazing man and all of our family as he has been given little time left.
Then Sunday we loaded up and came home to unpack and then go back to my moms house and help her with her Christmas tree.  Its 9ft tall and you have to connect all the lights so we decided to go and help.  Look at this priceless picture of my mom reading to my kids while Chris and my brother work on the tree.  I love it!

Happy Monday to you all!!!

New Outlook

The last few months have been very busy for us and also very challenging too.   As the summer came to an end Gunner got to go spend almost two weeks with my grandparents.  Some of my fondest memories as a child is spending weeks with my grandparents and now my children get to see just how wonderful their great grandparents are and get to get spoiled rotten in the process.  Gunner was gone for 10 days and while it was nice to spend some quality time with Kallie we really missed him.  He however could have stayed longer and never came home because he was having so much fun.
The week after he came home was what I call the PARTY week.  My sister, my brother, and myself had been planning a 30th wedding anniversary party for my parents.  They knew of the party and told us who to invite but that was all they got to know and we handled the rest.  It was stressful, fun, amazing, and something I am so glad we got to do for them.  I have the most amazing parents in the world and a relationship that most kids never get to experience.  We are all very close and spend A LOT of our time together and I would not change a thing.  My wonderful friend Kelsy came and took pictures for us and I will share a few with all of you
Love my beautiful momma

After the party week we were hoping things would slow down but no that was not the case at all.  Chris started having problems with his right foot and what we thought was a spider bite turned into a HORRIBLE staff infections called MRSA...the worse kind to get.  Long story short he was in the hospital for 5 LONG days and was off work for 3 weeks and is still recovering.  My husband has never had anything other than a cold in his life so this was challenging and hard to see him in so much pain and not himself.  It was even harder to see my kids so upset and not being able to explain everything to them.  I will spare you the pics of his foot but just know we are so glad he is back to normal.  I must say to we have the most AMAZING group of friends around us.  I had daily text, calls, visitors at the hospital checking on us.  My wonderful best friend organzied food brought to the hospital while we were there and a weeks worth of food brought to us the week we came home.  I was about to fall apart but several people stepped up and helped us with the kids, support, prayer, food, and so much more that I can not even explain.  So thanks so much Kelsy Vannaman, Ashley Linam, and Jamie Decker for all you did as you read this know just how much I LOVE YOU ALL and APPRECIATE you!  It means more than you ever know.

Now on to some fun stuff----THE HOGS!!!  Check out my adorable kids sporting their hog wear last weekend before watching the game with some great friends.

Love to you all
